Colored eggs, polka dots, a plant in bloom...that captures spring decor perfectly to me! To create a spring centerpiece for either a table or your entryway, consider this simple idea I had to bring seasonal flair to my home for just a few dollars. Quick, simple and budget-friendly, it's the perfect spring decoration that you can customize to fit the look of your own home.

I wanted to create a simple, but cheerful centerpiece for my spring table. Before doing any shopping at the store, I shopped my house. With a bit of creativity you can take items you already have and repurpose them in a fun new way to make them seem new. While the colored eggs, polka dot ribbon and wire basket didn't match perfectly at first, I found that putting these things together with a flowering plant was just the right combination for a simple, yet chic spring decoration. Best of all it took hardly any time, money or work to put it together!

I started with a white mesh wire basket to anchor the centerpiece. The mesh sides were perfect because I wanted the layers of colorful eggs to show through. At the center, I placed the potted plant and it fit nicely right in the center, and then I merely added the mint green, robins egg blue, light cocoa, and cream colored craft eggs I had from last year all around the basket base. I liked using various sizes of eggs so that they would nestle nicely against each other in the basket and create a more engaging display.

I added an elegant 2-sided polka dot ribbon to the basket handle, and my centerpiece was complete.
Tip: Top-quality ribbon is a must for decorating. It's a little more costly, but in this case, it only took a small amount, and when it's part of a focal point, it's important because so much of the finished result is impacted by it!
