Whether you have a pool in your backyard or have to take a vacation to swim, pool party games for families are a great way to get active and spend time with each other during the hot summer months. These three games are perfect for all members of the family.
Tug of War
Pick two teams and try to balance out ages between each. Have the teams stand on opposite sides of the pool. Then, have each player hold onto one end of a piece of rope or long board stretching across the pool.
Once each team is ready, yell tug! and have each side tug the rope as hard as possible. The team that pulls the hardest will cause the other team to topple into the water like dominos.
Relay Races
These races can be as simple or as difficult as you want, which makes them fun for all ages. It can be something silly such as riding a pool noodle across the pool or crawling along the bottom of the pool. For more structured contests, try races using different swimming styles like the butterfly or backstroke.
Pirahna Ball
Form a circle in the swimming pool by having each family member hold hands with other family members. Put a beach ball in the middle of the circle. Try to keep the ball from touching you as it floats around. Whenever the ball touches someone, that person is out and the circle gets smaller. The last person in the pool wins!
