More Party Ideas

Sending a party invitation on DVD is a surprising way to invite people to your event. For brides and grooms looking to stand out from the typical stack of wedding invitations, a DVD is the perfect way to introduce each other and the big day.

There are a few companies - Reel Invitations, InvitationDVD, DVD Wedding Invitations - that do all the work when you send in photographs, event details and music choices. Of course, with a little time and techno savvy, you can also create your own DVD invitations.

  • You will need a DVD burner and software program such as iDVD by Apple or free software downloaded to your computer. Follow software tutorials to burn slideshows and video clips to your DVDs.
  • Most software lets you create a menu to provide viewing selections to those viewing the DVD. Sections might include a photo montage, preview of the event location and video clip of you issuing a personal invitation to the event.
