Use these rainbow-inspired theme party ideas for a child's birthday, St. Patrick's Day celebration or to turn any ordinary day into a bright, extroadinary one!
Incorporating lots of color is key. Find yourself some colorful paper lanterns or balloons to create a colorful backdrop or focal point for your table, hanging them from fishing line or colored string.
Be creative with your seating. Tree stumps were used for seating and were dressed with rainbow streamers.
Style and set your table with a white tablecloth and colorful party ware. For this Play Party we used inexpensive solid color plates, napkins, and cups. We alternated each place setting for each color in the rainbow. For placemats, we used solid color 12x12 sheets of scrapbook paper that can be laminated or contact papered for use again and again.
We used the Rainbow Collection from The TomKat Studio for Party Printables. The printables added fun to the plates, bottles and favor containers which were stuck on with double sided tape. We also used a printable as a Color Place Card at each setting propped up on a popsicle stick easel.
Solid color grosgrain ribbon in every color of the rainbow served as a table runner.
Add more color and fun to your table with yummy fruit drinks in glass bottles and delicious desserts.
Serve your desserts on white square plates and let your desserts fill them with color! These rainbow sugar cookies made by SugarBelles were the perfect addition.
Rainbow cupcakes topped with "fluffy clouds" (Cool Whip) can also be served.
Accessorize your table with Rainbows centerpieces made from Styrofoam, glitter, wooden dowels and popsicle sticks.
As an activity, make homemade Sparkle Rainbow Play dough and place in a muffin tin.
Let your play party guests imaginations soar.
We hope this Rainbow Play Party gave you lots of Savvy inspiration and Savvy Smiles!
