Recipe for Love Bridal Shower Activity

Bridal showers aren't just about sitting down and watching the bride open all her gifts! Lately, more and more brides, their bridesmaids and moms are choosing to include fun themed bridal shower games as part of the celebration. Not only does this make things more interesting and fun for the guests, it also offers up an opportunity to collect all of the advice, well wishes and tips guests have for a successful marriage.

For a recent "Recipe for Love" themed bridal shower we had, we sent out invitations with a classic kitchen look and feel. After decorating our space to match, we also decided to incorporate a couple of activities to match, too.

Part of the invitation we sent out from Pear Tree Greetings included a recipe card. It's a great idea to add these with the invitations you send out so guests can write down one of their favorite tried and true recipes and help the bride start her collection.

If you want to go a step further, you could assign each guest a particular type of recipe to brings, such as main dish, side dishes, desserts, etc.

As guests arrive to the bridal shower, have a pretty place set up at the space, to collect all the recipe cards. For a creative way to gather the guest's recipes (and double as decor) I hung a frame outfitted with wire and clothes pin hangers. The guests can attach their recipe card as they arrive.

Throughout the party this display will certainly attract lots of attention from both the bride and her guests.

Additionally, since this shower is about the kitchen and recipes, we think sharing the "ingredients for love" is apropos for guests.

I designed fill-in-the-blank forms for everyone to complete with their own unique perspective on the recipe for a successful marriage. These will be great fun for the bride to read later on with her husband-to-be or even during the shower.
