Candy cocktails (and mocktails!) add a dash of playfulness to your menu, making them popular with both the grown-ups and the younger party-goers. Cider lends itself naturally to a dessert concoction and this particular recipe is wonderful for those cold winter nights you gather with friends since it serves a crowd.
Bright red and packing a cinnamon punch, this hot mocktail makes a great slow-cooker punch that makes party planning simple, too. We love to pair this sweet and warm dessert drink with our slow-cooker tortilla soup and green chili for a complete dinner party on a weeknight.
This recipe is for a mocktail, but you can add an ounce of Apple Liquor for every four ounces cider you serve to create the cocktail version.
Spicy, soothing and delicious, this apple cider is a real crowd pleaser thanks in large part to the slow cook process that infuses the drink with such fantastic flavor.
Cook up this hot cocktail or mocktail as you get ready to greet your guests or while everyone eats. It's a great way to have a special night-cap ready to go without the hassle of mixing complicated individual servings while the dinner party is underway.
Ingredients:
1 cup of red hot cinnamon candy
4 cups of apple cider
1 cup apple liquor (optional)
Directions
Turn your slow cooker to warm and add the apple cider and red hot candy.
Simmer on low heat for 1 hour or until the candy has fully dissolved.
As it cooks the cider will turn a vibrant red. Once the candies are dissolved, pour into glasses and serve warm.
If you are making the cocktail, add an ounce of Apple Liquor to each cocktail glass, then pour in the cider, stirring well before serving.
