Trying to find a healthy drink to serve on the 4th of July and stay in theme with the red, white and blue can be difficult, however this drink can be enjoyed by everyone in the family and is full of patriotic charm.

Served as both a mocktail or a cocktail, this lemonade is sweet, tart and so easy to make that you can ask your children to make it for you.

We make ours a punch so it's easy to serve a crowd and keep guests refreshed without working too hard!

Ingredients

1 Gallon of Water
5 whole lemons
1 basket of blue berries
1 basket of raspberries
Ice
1 cup of white granulated sugar

Directions

Thinly slice the lemons and add them to the gallon of water. Stir in the sugar and continue to stir until the sugar dissolves.

Let the water, sugar and lemon mixture rest at room temperature for 2 hours and then add the blue berries and raspberries, gently stirring to combine the mixture, but not crush the berries.

Once stirred, place in the refrigerator to chill. Just before serving add ice.

To make this a cocktail, simply add 1 ounce of vodka to every 4 ounces of lemonade.

Enjoy!
