This is a simple, delicious dessert recipe that I wrote specifically for 4th of July celebrations and has been a hit in my family for years. I make it for every Independence Day Celebration Gathering! I hope you enjoy it as much as we have!

Ingredients
1 Whole poundcake, cut up into cubes
2 Pint strawberries, diced and washed
1/4 Cup(s) granulated sugar
2 Cup(s) frozen blueberries, thawed
8 Oz cream cheese, softened
1 Cup granulated sugar
1 Tsp almond extract
1/2 Tsp vanilla extract
Directions
Place strawberries and sugar in a bowl together until sugar dissolves into syrup.
Place some poundcake cubes into a parfait glass.
Spoon some blueberries over poundcake.
In a bowl, combine cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla and almond extract.
Fold in about 1/3 of the whipped cream to the cream cheese mixture.
Place this cream cheese mixture over the blueberries and top with strawberries.
Top strawberries with some of the plain whipped cream, spear with an American flag and garnish with a strawberry, if desired.
