There many easy ways you can add Christmas decorations to your dinner and dessert table this year.

When dessert time strikes at parties, it's often easiest to keep it relaxed and self-serving for both hostesses and their guests. Around the holidays in particular, we're big fans of buffet and bar set ups since there's often lots of leisurely eating and drinking.

This year, like many, we looked to keep planning and party ideas budget-friendly, but still special. So, for our coffee bar set up, we reused some of our empty spice jars to create shakers for the coffee bar toppings.

Not only is this a great DIY idea to repurpose common household items, it's also a fantastic way to spruce up the typical coffee offering and make it special for a holiday celebration.

First, remove the labels from the jars and then wash and dry them thoroughly.

Add the toppings to the jars. We created a label on the computer to identify the contents and punched it out with a decorative punch. We then adhered the label to a piece of cardstock and punched a small hole in the top.

Our labels were tied around the neck of the jars with silver cording.

Keep it kid-friendly and serve up hot chocolate toppings, too! Try out this easy Christmas decorating idea for an added festive touch.
