See the Dee Jay or Band in Action

The best way to know if a DJ or band is the right fit for your party is to see them in action.  But no two performances are alike, so here are some tips for what to keep in mind when watching the musician and gauging whether or not they are a good fit for your event.

• As you watch the deejay or band in action, think about how they'll mesh with the guests at your party.
• Consider your crowd and the deejay or band's sense of humor or delivery. Remember all the wedding movies where the lead singer uses very colorful language for a g-rated crowd? It may be funny in a movie, but probably not so much in real life.
• If you are hiring them for a really important event, such as a wedding, you definitely need to see them in action. Get their permission (really their client's permission) to sneak a peek at their event!
