Creative Thank You: Sending a Photo Postcard

More Party Ideas

Photo postcards are personal and easy-to-make.How does this work? Ask one guest that you trust to be the unofficial photographer at your party. If it's a shower for you, for instance, ask your photographer to be sure and get a picture of you with each guest, so that you have a picture of you with every person that attends the party (either just the two of you, or in a group.)

After the party, you can print out the pictures (postcard size) on heavy matte or glossy paper (either on your own printer or at a place like Walgreens) and cut them out.

Treat each photo like a postcard, with your thank you message on the back. (Added bonus: you'll spend less on postage.)

If you'd rather go more conventional, you can simply include a photo with your thank you note.
  • Again, the picture can help to supplement your words (or lack thereof!), allowing your recipient to feel special. Because at least you can comment on the photo (i.e., you looked so pretty in your pink dress!)
  • If you're at a loss for more personal details. You could also print out your picture on cardstock that will fold over like a traditional thank you card with the picture on the front.
  • Then you can write your thank you inside, pop it into an envelope and mail it off. Ultimately, your recipient will have a personal, thoughtful memento from your party.
