Serve A Baby Shower Menu Filled With Fall Flavors

Baby showers are usually afternoon affairs filled with bite-sized foods that guests can munch on as they please. Just because you aren't serving a five course dinner doesn't mean you can't take advantage of the wonderful flavors associated with the fall season. In fact, many autumnal foods lend themselves easily to small servings.

Skip the cake -- go straight for the pie! Of course there's pumpkin pie. But there are a ton of options to choose from, from apple pie to chocolate mousse. Better yet, opt for five different fillers and bake a batch of mini pies. Instead of only having one piece, guests can enjoy two or three flavors in smaller servings.

If you must do cake -- This Caramel Apple Cake is the epitome of a fall dessert. Sweet and savory, it's sure to be a hit.

Turkey isnt just for Thanksgiving -- Mini sandwiches are a popular menu item at showers and turkey is not only a healthy option, but also one that is associated strongly with the fall. Instead of dressing your sandwiches with the usual lettuce, tomato and cheese go for something more fall-flavored and top your turkey with Cranberry Orange Relish. Savory spices and crisp herbs cost little and also go a long way in pumping up taste.

Potato Filled Ravioli -- Take ravioli to a whole new level with a sweet potato filling. Follow this recipe and make them mini in size to treat guests' taste buds to a delightful surprise of flavor.
