The most substantial dish on any Super Bowl menu, skillet beans are a great alternative to chili. This recipe is more savory than spicy, which balances out the strong flavor of the man dip I like to serve at our Super Bowl parties.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef
4 16 oz. cans baked beans
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup barbecue sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1/8 cup yellow mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 small onion, chopped (optional)
1 green bell pepper, chopped (optional)

Directions

Brown ground beef in a large skillet. Drain any excess grease or liquid, but leave a bit at the bottom of the pan.

Add in all your other ingredients and allow to cook for at least 30 minutes. You can let this sit over a low flame to keep warm for when you're ready to serve. If you combine everything at kick off and cook, you should be good to go by half-time!
