For those who've chosen a winter theme for their holiday party, these Snowflake Fondant Cupcakes will add an elegant touch to your dessert display.

Supplies

Prepared white fondant
Light blue icing color
Snowflake plunger cutter

Directions

Lightly ice cupcakes using white frosting.

Purchase prepared white fondant.

Snowflake plunger cutter set

Reserve 1/3 of the fondant to make snowflakes.

Tint 2/3 of the fondant light blue by kneading icing color into the fondant until it is fully incorporated.

Roll out blue fondant on a work surface that has been lightly dusted with cornstarch and cut out large snowflake shapes with decorative edges.

Drape blue snowflakes over cupcakes as in the photo.

Roll out white fondant on a work surface that has been lightly dusted with cornstarch and create snowflakes using a knife, mini cookie cutter, or a snowflake plunger cutter.

Lightly moisten the back of snowflakes with water and apply to the blue fondant draped over the cupcakes.
