If you live in an area that doesn’t get much snow, like here in Arizona, your kids can still get in on the snowman building action. Turn a white paper lantern into a snowman for a fun holiday craft. This is an easy craft project that children of all ages will enjoy helping with. Older kids can help with cutting out the shapes and younger kids can help stick them on the lantern. A major plus is that there is very little mess involved, which means very little cleanup.

Hang your snowman from the ceiling using fishing line or craft up a whole family of snowmen and hang on your trees outside. These lanterns would also make for perfect party décor and look great over a dessert table. If you are feeling creative, try making a scarf out of felt or fabric for your snowman. Instead of black coal for eyes, you could use googly eyes. Use different sized paper lanterns and shapes for another variation. Don’t forget to listen to Frosty the Snowman while making these.
Supplies:
8 inch White Paper Lantern
1.5 inch Circle Punch
Black Sticky Felt or Cardstock
Orange Sticky Felt or Cardstock
Scissors
Fishing Line or String
Directions:
Step 1: Using a 1.5 inch circle punch, punch 7 black sticky felt or cardstock circles out. Set to the side.
Step 2: Next, cut a triangle shape out of the orange sticky felt or cardstock. If you're making a few lanterns, don't make all the carrot noses the same - give them character!
Step 3: Attach the circles and triangle to look like a snowman face on the white paper lantern.
Step 4: Hang from the ceiling using fishing line or string. You'll have a seasonal decoration that's fun and fabulous all at once!
