With the super bowl coming up on February 3, we thought it would be the perfect time to pay tribute to the NFL's most proud and loyal fans. Not just any fans though--we're talking about the superfans.
True superfans are a breed all their own. Superfans eat, sleep, and breathe their team. They go to every game, usually decked out in wild, over-the-top attire to flaunt their team spirit. Some might even say they are a little crazy. Regardless, however, you've got to respect their passion! For your enjoyment, we've compiled some of our favorite superfans here.
The Original (Bears) Superfan
It just wouldn't be right to round up the greatest superfans without mentioning the original superfans: Saturday Night Live's Bill Swerski's Superfans. The Superfans skit was very popular in the early 90's, and featured a group of obsessive Chicago Bears fans that spent most of their time in a sports bar. For a funny example of the sketch comedy routine, check out the clip here!

Vikings Superfan
This famously fanatical Minnesota Vikings superfan goes by the nickname "100 Percent Cheese-Free" as a reference to the Vikings' arch rival team: The Green Bay Packers (whose fans are known as "Cheeseheads.")

Colts Superfan
Not just anybody would paint their entire body bright blue to support the team they love. However, for this loyal (and possibly Rastafarian?) Indianapolis Colts fan, it's not even a question.

Broncos Superfan
What do the Denver Broncos and famous Star Wars villain have in common? Absolutely nothing, it seems. However, this superfan decks himself out in a full Broncos-colors Darth Vader costume.

Giants Superfan
It's hard to imagine that this crazy New York Giants fan can possibly enjoy, let alone see, the game in his head-to-toe spandex body suit, but you've got to give him points for dedication!

Packers Superfans
It makes sense that the Green Bay Packers, who notably have sold out every single home game since 1960, have such a loyal fan base. As made apparent here, Cheeseheads are bred from a very young age!
