Ingredients
Crust
1 cup all-purpose flour
3 ounces cream cheese
1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into tablespoon pieces
Filling
1 3/4 cups sour cream
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt
6 large Granny Smith Apples, peeled, cored, sliced into wedges
Topping
1 cup chopped almonds
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
Directions
Add crust ingredients into a food processor and pulse until the mixture forms coarse crumbs. Form dough into a flat disk, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for an hour.
Roll out dough on a floured surface and transfer to a 9-inch pie pan. Trim excess dough around rim and crimp or ruffle edges. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
To make filling, mix together sour cream, sugar, egg, flour, vanilla, and salt until blended. Stir in apples and coat well with mixture. Pour into prepared crust.
Bake pie for 10 minutes and then reduce oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 35 minutes more.
Meanwhile, mix together topping ingredients. Remove pie from oven and sprinkle topping over apples. Return pie to oven and bake for 15 minutes more until crust is golden brown.
Remove from heat and cool.
