Sparkling New Year's Eve Party Favors

Send your New Year's Eve party guests home with a favor to round out your celebration. Using our New Year's Eve party invitations as inspiration, we created these glittery surprises for our friends to help start the year off on a sweet note.

Supplies

small flip top cans from canned fruits or vegetables*
safety can opener
glitter paper cut to fit the height and circumference of the cans
strong 2-sided tape
super glue or hot glue
small pieces of paper to make labels

*Open your canned fruits and vegetables as you use them from the bottom of the can with a safety can opener, keeping the flip- top lid intact. The safety can opener will not leave sharp edges and you'll be able to snap the lid back in place. Wash the cans and lids in soapy water and dry. Save the cans so you'll have plenty to make your party favors.

Directions

Step 1: Open cans from the bottom with a safety can opener.

Step 2: Remove the label and wash thoroughly.

Step 3: Using a strong adhesive or double-sided tape, apply the decorative paper to the outside of the can.

Step 4: Fill the can with goodies.

Step 5: Place a few beads of super glue or hot glue to the rim of the bottom lid. Replace the lid on the bottom of the can and press down firmly.

Step 6: Turn the can right-side up with the flip-top lid showing. Add a label with a greeting or name to the can.

Step 7: Slip some decorative ribbons under the pull-top and tie. Party guests will use the pull top tab to open their treats.
