Sparkling Wine Float

Sparkling wine and Champagne are often confused, but there is no difference between the two! Champagne is a type of sparkling wine – it’s just made in a certain region of France (Champagne) where it gets it's name.

While most of us will enjoy a glass of sparkling wine or champagne at a particularly important milestone occasion like a promotion dinner, 50th birthday or even New Year's Eve, there's no reason we should require such an occasion to enjoy the libation.

To break this tradition, I’ve incorporated sparkling wine and ice cream to create a more grown up version of the classic soda float we enjoy so much. The wine mixes with the ice cream to create a creamy, bubbly, and refreshing treat.

1 pint Vanilla Ice Cream
1 bottle Sparkling Wine

Directions

Place two scoops of ice cream in a large glass. Fill the glass with sparkling wine.  Serve immediately.
