Spiced Holiday Nuts

For our holiday gathering, we roasted a holiday nut mixture and packaged them up in glass mason jars adorned with festive ribbon and a gift tag to thank our guests for sharing in the feast with us.

Below, is the recipe we used. It's a wonderful blend of salty, savory, sweet and spicy, something we think your guests will enjoy as much as ours did!

Get the complete gifting how-to so you can package them the way we did.

Ingredients

2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 egg white
1 1/2 cup almonds
1 1/2 cup pecan halves
1 cup walnut halves

Directions

Preheat your oven to 300 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. While the oven heats, combine the sugar, spices and salt in a small bowl.

Whisk the egg white in a separate large bowl until light and frothy. Then, add the nuts to the egg white and toss to coat.

Gradually sprinkle the nuts with your sugar and spice mixture. As you add the coating, be sure to toss well to ensure all the nuts are coated completely.

Spread the nuts on your parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 300 degrees for 40-45 minutes.

Allow the nuts to cool completely before serving. If gifting or serving later, store the nuts in an air-tight container.
