Generally we associate margaritas with a sweet, tart flavor. Bet you rarely use the word spicy to describe this classic cocktail!
Well, take what you think you know about margarita making and throw it all out the window. We're turning the usually sweet sip on it's head and enhancing the flavors of a regular margarita with some heat.
While the tequila and lime juice give this drink recipe it's tartness, and the agave nectar sweetness, the jalapeno we add gives it spice!
Compliment it all with a bit of cucumber juice for the perfect margarita that's got it all - sweet, spice and everything nice all in one little sip!
1 1/2 ounce tequila
1/4 jalapeno pepper (cut into strips, seeds and ribs removed)
3 slices cucumber
Splash of agave nectar
1/2 ounce triple sec
Splash of fresh lime juice
Lime wheel for garnish
In the bottom of a shaker, muddle the jalapeno peppers and the cucumbers into their juicy and pulpy. Then add ice, tequila, agave, Triple Sec and Fresh Lime Juice.
Shake vigorously and then strain into a margarita glass with ice. Garnish with a lime wheel, or if you prefer a jalapeno one!
