Daring decor that is entirely recyclable is the hallmark of Halloween decorations that work well. I love Halloween decorations, but storing them...not so much. That's why I'm always looking for inexpensive DIY Halloween decorations to make every year.

Something that has a striking visual impact like this spooky tree centerpiece that uses easily accessible items (and more than likely things you have around your house) add the perfect bit of festive to your home for the season.

While you can certainly hang on to this Halloween decoration, you needn't feel obligated since it's both budget-friendly and recyclable!

Supplies:

White glitter card stock

Orange glitter card stock

Black ribbon, thin

Black ribbon, wide

Small tree branch

Black spray pain

Round florist's vase

Bat template

Directions:

Head outside (you'll need a well ventilated area to do this first step) and spray your tree branch black and let it dry completely. Make sure the stick (or sticks) you're working with fits comfortably in your vase. Wrap the vase in the orange paper, then band with a piece of wide ribbon.

Using the free printable bat templates, print the file to the reverse side (unfiltered or unpatterned) side of your paper. Cut out each bat then hot glue a loop of thin black ribbon to the back side of the bat to hang.

Use your imagination with the colors you use for the bats and your vase. This is only a suggestion, but don't feel obligated to follow the traditional black and orange look if you don't want to - use your home's style and colors to inspire. For example, consider making your bats white and your tree black, or your bats purple and your tree an emerald green. The sky is the limit!
