St. Patrick's Day crafts are taking an upcycled turn this year! To dress our home in green for St. Patrick's Day all while keeping to a budget, I got creative with clothespins and patterned paper. This wreath is so easy to construct and takes very little time to make. In fact, because it's so simple, it even makes for the perfect St. Patrick's Day crafts for kids!
Wooden clothespins aren't just for hanging clothes on the line. I wanted a wreath that was "very green" for St. Patrick's Day, but I wanted to incorporate some fun patterns too. My answer? A sweet little do-it yourself project that starts with a bag of wooden clothespins and some leftover patterned scrapbook paper.
The only thing I had to purchase for this project were the clothespins. The other materials are likely ones that you have on hand, too. It was fun to transform the clothespins and coordinate the patterned papers to create a pleasing design. I'm not putting this wreath away after St. Patrick's Day. There's a wall in my laundry room that is just right for a cheery clothespin wreath!

Step 1: Bend a wire hanger into a circular shape.
Step 2: Cut the patterned paper into 2 3/4 X 3/8-inch pieces and then adhere the paper pieces to the face of each clothespin with Mod Podge. Apply a second layer of Mod Podge after the 1st one dries. If your clothespins are different in size, account for that in your patterned paper measurements.
Step 3: Clip each clothespin onto the wire wreath form--alternately clipping the pin at the first opening, and the opening that's further in. This will create a more staggered look for your wreath.
Step 5: Attach a bow at the top and hang your wreath on your front door to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day and the wearin' of the green!
You can also adjust the color and patterns of your paper to make this a DIY decoration you can use for any occasion!
