Lore has it that leprechauns hide their treasure at the end of rainbows. Recreate this fantastical idea on Saint Patrick's Day for the kids. They'll learn about the symbols most often associated with the holiday and have some good old fashioned scavenger hunt fun to boot!
To help you plan a Saint Patrick's Day treasure hunt, we've rounded up a few clever clues:
Shamrock: Green and full of luck, I'm a leaf you'll want to pluck!
Irish Flag: Colors of green, white and orange wave, a sign of the land St. Patrick saved. (From snakes if legend is right!)
Horseshoe: Footwear for your mare, turned up, I hold lots of luck!
Rainbow: Just after a shower, the sun peeks through, and I arrive with colors true!
Ireland: The isle of green where St. Patrick was once seen.
Green: One and all wear this color today in honor of this holiday!
Blarney Stone: Kiss me and maybe you'll be as lucky as we!
Pot of Gold: Filled to the brim and shining bright, any will know they've won the prize at first sight.
Have your kids figure out the clues and find holiday objects around your home/outside/in class. The last clue should lead them to their own pot of gold chocolate coins!
