In some social circles, a 30th birthday is a welcomed and exciting milestone in a person’s life. And there are some people who have a full blown panic attack the months preceding the big 3-0. Instead of planning a birthday party, they experience a sense of dread, maybe disappointment and a little lost. It’s not like worrying about turning 30 will somehow stop the clock in its track. So why all the drama?!
It’s human to feel a little apprehension during big events. Time passing is a guaranteed thing so there’s no point in being a cry baby about it. After all, you’re an adult now. And in case you forgot, you’re 30!
With my 30th birthday approaching next year, I’ve found myself feeling really excited and looking forward to the EPIC 30th birthday party I will be planning. So I decided to compile a list of reason why all the 29 year-olds I know should stop freaking out and embrace their 30th.
Once I’ve convinced you that turning 30 is not the end of the world, you can get over it FAST and celebrate your life with a paaaartay!
Reasons Why Being 30 is Awesome
You actually have a career, some cash and the common sense to pay your bills on time.
30 is the new 20 according to Jay-Z aka the coolest guy of our generation.
You can now sniff out a scummy guy from a block away and avoid him all together!
You’ve figured out what hair color makes you look hot in pictures.
You grew up during the time of Boy Meets World, Goosebumps, N’Sync, scrunchies, Power Rangers, Fruit Roll-Ups, Trolls, Home Alone, Britney Spears, Sega Genesis and Michael Jordan.
Science has evolved so much that you can now freeze your eggs!
You realize you look way better than some of the celebrities you grew up watching who are also turning 30. And they had to have had some work done along the way!
You’re stronger, more fierce and a force to be reckoned with now than you were when you were 23.
Because you will look and feel the same as you do now even after you turn 30.
As you can see, there are plenty of reason why you need to get over your 30th birthday panic attack, embrace all the positives and throw yourself a wonderful party.
Whether it’s a nice dinner out, a weekend getaway with your girls or a low-key dinner with your family, find a way to enjoy this important milestone. And save the freaking out for when you turn 100.
