Stuffed Finger-Painted Pumpkins

A project even the youngest of crafters can do, these paper pumpkins from DLTK Crafts fit in throughout the season, not just at Thanksgiving. Let them have fun, let them get messy, and do not expect perfection. When kids are finished making their stuffed pumpkins, use fishing line to hang them above your dinner table or carefully place them in a basket for an imperfectly casual centerpiece.

Supplies

  • paper
  • scissors
  • stapler
  • finger paint (or tempra paint and brush) in orange and green
  • cotton balls or shredded newspaper

Directions

  • Draw two pumpkins making them the same size.
  • Let children paint the templates with their fingers or with the brush and tempra paints. Allow to dry.
  • Cut out the pumpkins. (Adults may need to help with this step)
  • Staple all the way around the edge of the pumpkins leaving an opening at the top.
  • Stuff pumpkins with shredded paper.
  • Finish stapling the pumpkin closed.
