Summer Mocktails for Moms-to-Be

While most of us won’t have to give sipping spiked drinks all summer long a second thought, mamas-to-be have to avoid those sugary alcoholic beverages. Apart from the obvious no drinking while pregnant rule, moms-to-be also have to consider everything else that they’re ingesting since baby will absorb those nutrients, or lack thereof, too.

There are a few foods experts say are a must for pregnant women including dark leafy greens and colorful fruits and veggies. While dark greens are loaded with vitamins and nutrients, they’re also believed to help eye health. Colorful fruits and veggies are a good choice for moms-to-be because every sort offers a wide range of nutrients. By eating across the color-spectrum of fruits and veggies, you’re also exposing your child (via amniotic fluid) to a world of healthy flavors they’re more likely to recognize and enjoy later on.

Gaining some insight into these top food picks for pregnant women, we decided to create some refreshing sips for the moms-to-be we know, so that they could enjoy a special drink like the rest of us do during the summer.

To keep things even more figure-friendly, we omitted sugary sodas most often used to flavor mocktails and worked with Seagram’s new line of naturally flavored seltzer waters to infuse our drinks with subtle, yet totally delicious natural flavors.

Give these a try!
