Invitation

Though it doesn't scream, "sunshine," our party invitation provides a subtle nod to the theme.

The invites are actually part of a wedding invitation set found on clearance that I was able to customize for my daughter's party.

The soft yellow is the perfect background for gray print and a light number one behind the party information add a little extra detail.

To help hint at the party theme, I used a "You Are My Sunshine," stamp found in the dollar bins at my local craft store on the back of the envelope flap.

Favor

As a way of saying thank you to our family and friends for celebrating our daughter's first birthday with us, I wanted to give them a small gift to take home.

Sunflowers seemed like a great idea since they fit with the sunshine theme. Initially, I thought of placing cut blooms in repurposed glass baby food jars, but opted for packets of seeds instead.

The seed packets just happened to be the same size as the wallet-size photos taken of the birthday girl.

I wrote  a little note of thanks from the birthday girl and printed it on the back of gray-patterned scrapbook paper (cut to size).

Then, I attached the small photo of my daughter to the front and tied it to the seed packet with yellow yarn.
