The entire team here at Celebrations.com has been pretty busy of late, and after all the hard work we've been putting in, we decided it was time for some fun team time.
Since team sports seem to lend themselves pretty naturally to the whole idea of team building, and since it's football season, we all decided to host an office tailgate party.
We ran the tailgate like a potluck, with everyone bringing a little something to the mix, and turned our office into a pretty awesome viewing space thanks to our new Epson MegaPlex MG-850HD projector.
Epson sent us the projector a couple of months back for everyday office use and it's definitely improved productivity here, but being Celebrations.com we couldn't just stop with Powerpoint presentations. We cleared out our big conference room and set up the projector as a giant TV - which is how football was meant to be watched, right?
We had a classic spread of football food for our office tailgate party. On the menu were burgers and fries, homemade Italian cheese popcorn, a spicy beer cocktail, some sweet and spicy berry salsa, and chips.
We're always saying attention to the little details makes a big difference at any celebration, and this proves it! We dressed up our french fries by serving them in plastic double shot glasses with ketchup at the bottom - mess-free, delicious and chic!
Then, we just printed out some football themed embellishments for our spicy beer cocktails and to add some team spirit to our burgers, popcorn and chips.
A basic red burlap tablecloth kept it festive, as did our easy black and white paper pennant banner, and the team letters added to the party spirit. Although we used all these ideas for a fun office party, you could easily recreate the scene at home - and we bet if you had a projector like ours, it'd REALLY blow your fellow fans away.
You might think Epson's projector isn't a fit for the home, but trust us, it is. We've already used it to watch a game and as we'll be moving into a new space soon, we've also got plans to use it as a decorating tool. You know that old trick of projecting a design onto a wall to paint it? We'll be trying it shortly!
And because the projector has an easy, and might I say chic, dock for your iPod or iPad, it's so, so easy to use for viewing photos and videos. The sound quality wasn't too shabby either - our conference room has a bad echo sometimes, but we had no trouble with the game. While we hadn't had trouble with the projected image quality, I have to admit, we didn't expect the picture to be so crisp for a game, but it definitely impressed us!
Best of all, the projector is portable! So, once the weather warms up, I bet it won't be as tough convincing the boss to host a movie night out in park.
