Thanksgiving Pie Exchange Party

More Party Ideas

No matter your family's traditions, we bet it's safe to say there will be at least one Thanksgiving pie on your table!

Perhaps it's not as iconic as the Thanksgiving turkey, but pumpkin pie is certainly a whole lot prettier, which makes it the perfect image to inspire your holiday celebration. Seasonal in both flavor and color, pumpkin pie is just as all-American as the holiday that made it famous.

While we love the idea of sending Pear Tree Greeting's A Piece of the Pie Thanksgiving postcard to the family for the big feast, we couldn't wait to use that as a reason to send a few out.

Instead, we got the ladies together for a Thanksgiving pie exchange party. Similar to a cookie exchange, you can read all of our tips for hosting a pie exchange, but before you do, check out our gorgeous gallery to get excited to host a pie party of your own!

Since this is party is all about the pie, make all the assorted recipes the focal point of the party. Set up a space in your home to display everyone's pies together. Keep it simple with a seasonal runner and lots of assorted tiers so nothing distracts from the dessert.

Since there are no duplicates allowed, guests will probably have to get creative with their recipes. So, it's a good idea to have some labels on hand for the pie display - just in case something isn't easily identifiable. We love the idea of painting plain thin coasters with chalkboard paint so you can write in pie names over and over!

In addition to this holiday recipe exchange party being all about the pie, you're probably also hosting it mere days before you have a big Thanksgiving feast to prepare for, too. So, don't go too crazy with your decor. Let the pies shine and embellish your space with a few details like these simple DIY party utensils. They're easy to customize and super functional!

What's a pie exchange without pie, right? First up, we've got to share our pumpkin pie. Inspired by our party's invitation, this crustless pumpkin pie was provided by the hostess and is a lighter version of the classic recipe thanks to the absence of crust.

Skip the lattice design on your apple pie this time and try our sweet Dutch apple pie with a crumble top. It adds great texture and flavor to every bite!

We love the look of this cherry pie, but the flavor is really something to enjoy! You can make it with regular cherries or even give it a little something unexpected by using sour cherries. Either way, it's delicious!

While you might think blueberries are only ok in a summer pie, we're all about serving this scrumptious blueberry pie for Thanksgiving.
