Every Harry Potter fan knows the story of Aragog, and inviting him to the party in cupcake form is a great way to relive the more complex characters of the book.  Complete with spidery legs, bulging eyes and webbing, this sweet treat is fun to make and great fun to eat.

Ingredients

12 cupcakes
1 bag of Black Licorice Wands
12 Marciano Cherries
6 strawberries
Butter Cream Icing
12 Cotton Balls

Directions

Before icing your cupcakes, slice the licorice wands in half length wise, slice the cherries in half enough to butterfly them apart, and then remove the tips of the strawberries before cutting them in half lengthwise.

Ice your cupcakes enough to produce a small mound on the top, and then gently unwind the cotton ball around the base of the cupcake to create the webbing.

Insert 4 lengths of licorice on each side of each cupcake so that your cupcakes have a total of 8 legs each.

Top each cupcake with a strawberry body and a set of cherry eyes to complete the spider effect.
