The Ron Burgundy Scotchsicle

My friends and I grew up during the SNL Will Ferrell days and we're all big fans, so no matter how silly his movies, we all always get together to watch one.

Recently that movie was Anchorman. You know, the one where Will plays Ron Burgundy, the big news anchorman for NBC in the 1970s who dresses in classy suits and has pretty amazing hair - both atop is head and on his face? It's one of my favorites.

Well, since all my friends came to my place for the viewing, I had to have a signature cocktail ready and waiting. It's how I do things!

Anyway, in addition to Will's famous facial hair in the movie, there's the fact that everyone has a favorite line from Anchorman. It's one of those classic Will Ferrell films you just can't help but quote. So I used one that always stood out in my mind as a quintessential Ron Burgundy quote to inspire my sip.

"I love scotch. Scotchy scotch scotch. Here it goes down, down into my belly."

Even if you're not a big scotch fan, this cocktail recipe is pretty hard to resist - much like Ron! We used a giant batch of this and poured out into glasses when ready to serve, but you can easily cut this down to a single serving.

Ingredients:

2 cups scotch

1 cup triple sec

3 cups orange juice

cinnamon for garnish

Directions:

Combine all ingredients, except the cinnamon, over ice in a pitcher. Stir well. Pour into glasses when ready to serve and sprinkle with cinnamon for garnish.
