Birthday Party Themes: Sports Fan Foods

What fun is sports without the delicious food that comes with it? With each sport comes a type of cuisine, so be sure to emphasize your party with the right food!

Football: Set up the backyard barbeque in true tailgate-style - put out ice chests filled with a variety of beer, sodas and juices. Fill another ice chest with different types of sausage, burgers and hot dogs to grill. Finally, cover a table with a disposable tablecloth and lay out bowls of different chips and dips for people to snack on. Also include plenty of great game appetizers like buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks and onion rings.

Baseball: For a baseball-themed bash, use Americana style decor. Think red, white and blue with plenty of stars and stripes. Design a long table full of traditional baseball snacks: set out bowls of popcorn (ketel corn and regular), rows of cracker jack boxes, and mini bags of peanuts and sunflower seeds. Create centerpieces for the food tables by stacking baseballs in a large silver bowl.

Menu

For the main course, serve Ballpark hot dogs with individual baskets of fries. Create a small condiment table with all the fixings and have guests help themselves.

Include ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, relish, grilled onions and chopped fresh onions.

If you want to get creative in the kitchen, offer guests a choice of French fries with a fry bar: include regular French fries, spicy fries, criss-cut fries and garlic fries.

Dont forget to set out a variety of tasty dipping sauces; ranch, blue cheese, ketchup and honey mustard sauce should do the trick.
