Tie Dye Theme Party

More Party Ideas

Colorful, fun, and sweet, this Tie Dye Theme Party is perfect for your older grammar school kids or pre-teens. Boys and girls alike will enjoy making their own tie-dye t-shirts, plus the sweet themed treats we share are bound to get them excited, too.

Having the kids create their own tie dye shirts can serve as not only the main party activity, but also serves as a great party favor that the kids will love to wear and show off! Encourage them to take time choosing their favorite colors and color combinations for truly personalized wear.

Take a peek at all the great tie dye party ideas we have, then get hosting your own! Since it's summer, you can host this party in your yard quite easily and it makes for both a great birthday party for kids, but also a fun social date for them as well.

If the tie dye activity doesn't last as long as you hoped it would (and we know how vicious kids can get when they are bored), have the kids decorate all those extra wooden clothespins you purchased to hang the tie dye shirts up. You get a set of decorated clothespins, and the kids won't go crazy from boredom (trust us, you do NOT want that to happen).

And to avoid angry parents, please make a note in the invitation for guests to wear any old shirts or aprons that they do not mind getting dirty. The last thing you want is to be footed for the dry cleaning bill because some of the boys decided to have a paint fight!

Get the kids excited for a tie-dye party with this invite attached to a plain white tee.

Even if this is just a social gathering and not a celebration for any particular reason, jazz up your party space. We created a really easy sweets table for this party that made a huge statement and impressed the kids

We displayed an assortment of tie dye cupcakes we made on our dessert bar, but left a few for the kids to get creative with as well.

For some extra sugary goodness we twisted candy fruit strips into spirals to mimic our tie-dye t-shirt designs and placed them on the buffet.

Finally, tie-dye party favors were added to the buffet as well. The jars of gumballs added to the pops of color we worked into our party look, but the kids absolutely loved that they got them as a take away.

Don't stop with a dessert bar! Carry your party colors and design into an table area using our tie-dye decor ideas.

No tie-dye theme party is complete without getting artsy with t-shirts! Check out how to make a tie-dye t-shirt in two different styles.

This party is one the kids are going to love! And we're betting you will, too!
