This Labor Day, don't stress over the planning for your party. Summer may be coming to an end, but you still have one more weekend to fully embrace all of what the warmer months have to offer. I've planned a ton of rockstar events for my clients and you can do the same with a little effort and budget! Check out a few of my tips below to really kick your Labor Day party this year up a notch.
Location, location, location!
Take advantage of the warm weather and plan a party that is outdoors. Who knows when you will be able to enjoy the beautiful weather again; it could be your last for the season! Make sure there are shady areas and a set up that allows for air to flow -- there is nothing worse than having hair sticking to foreheads and sweat spots on pretty silk dresses. A pool or venue along a waterfront is always ideal as there's often a breeze you won't find further inland.
Embrace outdoor elements for decor.
The sky is the limit, literally! If you're in a more wooded area, create a natural oasis with lanterns hanging from trees to create a more intimate party. If you're party is surrounding a pool, try spacing a few lanterns around the pool with smooth rocks and candles like we did above and below.
If you want to, go ahead and use candles, check with the venue to make sure fire is allowed and that open flames are at least a foot away from any flammable surface. Also, put a tiny bit of water in the bottom of the holder containing a lit candle -- this helps with the wax cleanup and fire control.
Pops of Print are Perfect.
Keeping with the earthy tone of your party, add fun pops of animal print to really bring out your inner rockstar. Take your usual outdoor patio furniture and lay a leopard print rug underneath them. You can even mix it up and bring your leather couch outside (weather permitting of course) and drape a leopard blanket over it.
Remember don't be afraid to go bold. You can ditch the usual "white party" theme and plan something much more interesting with a little effort and smart color blocking. All you need are a few natural elements and pops of print to really make your party stand out!
