If you think toilet paper roll crafts are all toy telescopes and tube-shaped people (and animals, and snowmen, and trees…), think again. These cardboard flowers are a cinch to make, even for kids, thanks to the built-in “petal” shape created when you cut the tube crosswise. Use them instead of bows on wrapped gifts, string them together into a garland, or make an upcycled bouquet.
Supplies
Toilet paper roll
Scissors
Mini adhesive dots
Polymer clay
Paint
Floral wire
Directions
Step 1: Press the cardboard tube flat.
Step 2: Cut the cardboard crosswise into five ½-inch wide pieces per flower.
Step 3: Place a mini adhesive dot near a folded end of one of the cardboard petal pieces.
Step 4: Press a second cardboard “petal” to the adhesive and repeat all the way around to make a flower shape.
Step 5: Knead a small piece of polymer clay to soften it. Roll it into a ball and press it in the center of the flower.
Step 6: Paint the flower as desired.
Step 7: Cut a 10-inch piece of floral wire. Push one end through the back of the flower and into the polymer clay.
