At the end of the year, the team here at Celebrations always likes to look back on all the ideas we shared and see if our readers enjoyed them or not. It's always interesting to see what's performed really well and why.
If you read Celebrations.com daily you know just how much new, fresh content we're sharing daily. So much so, it's hard to keep track!
We took a peek at the top ideas this year and broke them down into two parts - recipes and DIY ideas. Here, our best DIY ideas of 2012.
One thing we were shocked to find? Some of the ideas from 2011 actually trumped new stuff we shared. Suddenly it seems, something caught on and exploded - the power of the internet! Regardless, we're so thrilled to inspire so much celebration.
Our DIY pumpkin keg video from October was the biggest and best content piece this year. We walked into work one morning to realize it'd gone viral! If you haven't seen it yet, check out our DIY pumpkin keg so you're ready to make one next fall.
We all know how much fun a sheet tent can be if you're a kid. Rather than just lying one across a pile of pillows and a couch, contributor Gwynn Wasson actually turned hers into a real teepee. The funny thing? It's not hard! Her simple tutorial including fantastic photos was a big hit with readers and their kids over the summer break.
Graduations are one big milestone to celebrate and we had some pretty clever DIY ideas to dress up a party for just such an occasion. Turns out, our readers loved all the ideas we put together in this gallery!
Another big hit from Halloween season, contributor Patti Allan showed everyone just how easy it is to turn mason jars into luminaries. She took a spookier route, but really, her tutorial can be adjusted for any holiday, season or occasion you're celebrating.
Fresh flowers can't be beat, but they're not always the ideal option for a kid's birthday party. Our paper accordion flowers showed how much parents love the idea of a simple, inexpensive and pretty birthday centerpiece. We love them, too!
Patti strikes gold again with mason jars again! She showed us how to turn the jars into holiday gifts last year and started a craze. Since then the page has exploded with views and has also inspired many more mason jar ideas on Celebrations.
Sometimes, the simplest idea is the best. Another post we shared last year, these DIY photo ornaments from contributor Chris Nease for Christmas held their own against some of our newer ideas this year again. A hit in 2011, they stuck around just as strong in 2012 - now to see how they do in 2013!
Chalkboard, chalkboard, chalkboard! If we weren't talking mason jars this year, we we're sharing a chalkboard paint tutorial. The 2012 craft trend, we made many a chalkboard craft, but this super simple centerpiece trumped them all.
Rounding out our top 10, DIY glitter play-doh is a craft that's fun to make and then even more fun to play with after.
