Stefanie is my best friend for many, many reasons, but recently she reinforced why our friendship is 13 years strong and counting with this Tough Day Kit she sent me.
I'd been having a rough couple of days (OK, week) and she figured I needed some "me" time. She tried telling me over the phone, she explained how much it'd help over email and she was relentless telling me over dinner how much I needed to take a break and "do me".
None of that worked. I nodded along saying, "I know, I know" but as soon as I'd walked away, it went in one ear and out the other.
That's how much I love my best friend - I never listen to her good advice.
Lucky for me, my biffle, as I adoringly call her, knows me better. She knew I'd sooner succumb to the demands laid before my feet before heeding her wise words, so she forced me to sit back, relax and sip a glass of wine.
How you might ask? Simple - she sent me a gift basket. Not because it was my birthday and not because it was Christmas (we stopped gifting each other on these occasions long, long ago).
Stefanie sent me this much-needed Tough Day Rescue Kit from WineTasting.com simply because it was Thursday and I needed to remember the important things in life after a rough week.
It cheered me indefinably as soon as I saw it sitting on my table, and did even more good when I opened it up.
If you know a woman who's having a tough day, send her this kit. I laughed over the simple "how-to unwind after a tough day" instructions I shouldn't need to read to remember, but I really, truly enjoyed and relaxed with my book, a glass of wine and some chocolates.
It was the perfect cure for such a tough week and exactly what my biffle knew I needed.
