The kids are sure to receive a few Valentines from friends and classmates. This year, instead of simply piling them up or sticking them to the fridge, make this festive mailbox with them to store their Valentine's Day cards. This is not only an easy Valentine's Day craft, but functional as well!
Supplies
1 piece 5 x 7 cardboard
1 piece 7 x 12 thick cardstock
other coordinating papers
craft glue or glue dots
stickers or other embellishments
Directions

Step 1: Trace the cardboard on one piece of decorative paper.

Step 2: Cut out, and glue on top of the cardboard. This will be the bottom of the mailbox.

Step 3: Glue each end of the thick cardstock piece to the sides of cardboard forming a funnel shape.

Step 4: Setting this piece on one end, trace around it on another sheet of coordinating paper adding 1/4 inch around. Cut out. Do this two times. This will be the ends of your mailbox.

Step 5: Take one piece of this paper and cut in about 1/4 inch on the bottom corners and on the sides of the curved shape.

Step 6: Fold the bottom edge up and glue it underneath one end of cardboard. We used tape to help secure the piece while work continued.

Step 7: Fold the remaining edges in, and glue inside the cardstock mailbox.

Step 8: Using the other end piece, trace and cut out a matching piece of thick cardstock. Glue the two pieces together. Fold the bottom 1/4 inch up and glue underneath the opposite end of the mailbox from step 7.

Step 9: Glue a short piece of ribbon to the top of this flap to help pull the mailbox open.

Step 10: Add some decorative touches. We made a flag out of cardstock scraps and attached a chipboard letter sticker to the front in the initial of the child using the mailbox.
