Walk Down Memory Lane Birthday Decorations

In order to fully execute the memories' theme of this party, it is necessary to collect as many photos and stories from throughout the birthday person's life as possible.

When guests call to RSVP, ask them to email you a short story that personifies the birthday guy or gal, along with a few of their favorite pictures of the person. Once you have received all the memories collateral you can weave the photos and stories throughout the night of the party to create a loving ode to the birthday person's wonderful life.

Clothesline Timeline

Create a mock clothesline for party decor using thick twine. Instead of items of clothing, use mini clothespins ($2 for 50 at California Paper Goods) to hang up pictures in chronological order from throughout the birthday person's life.

Use copies of photos or digital printouts to keep the original photos intact. You can also intersperse the pictures with quotes and stories from people, printed out onto blank (unlined) 3 x 5" note cards in a fun font.

Framed Quotes, Stories and Photos

For pictures that can't be copied, or large blown-up pictures, frame them and create a vignette down the middle of a dining room table as a party centerpiece. Add in framed printed-out quotes, newspaper clippings, and stories to give guests some fun reading material and conversation starters during the party.

Trivia Cocktail Napkins

Personalize the birthday party even further by having the best kernels of advice, quotes, stories and trivia about the birthday person printed onto paper cocktail and dinner napkins. Guests will get a kick out of learning these little known facts about the birthday person, and the personalization will go a long way toward making the party unique. Plus, it fits the walk down memory lane' theme to a tee.
