Watermelon Margarita

What could be more refreshing than a watermelon margarita on a hot summer night? Serving margaritas always ensures that your party will be lively and fun, however this summer, replace the ever popular strawberry margarita with watermelon for a tangy and sweet margarita that will have your guests refilling their glasses and asking you for the recipe.

Ingredients

3-4 slices of fresh seedless watermelon
1 ounce of water
4 ounces of Tequila
1 ounce of freshly squeezed lime juice
1 lime wedge
2 ounces of Triple Sec
Course ground salt
Ice

Directions

Ensure that your watermelon is seedless! If you can't get a seedless watermelon at the grocery store, you'll have to pick out the seeds manually. A bit more work, but definitely a must!

Once you have removed your seeds, add the watermelon, water and lime juice to a blender and blitz until you have a watermelon puree.

Take your lime wedge and rim your margarita glass with it, then gently place in a ring of course salt to line the glass with salt.

In a cocktail shaker, place your ice, watermelon puree, tequila, and triple sec. Then, shake vigorously to ensure the liquid is fully mixed. Once tiny beads of sweat begin to form on the cocktail shaker, you're ready to pour!

Pour the mixture into your margarita glass and garnish with either a lime wedge or watermelon wedge.

This recipe is for a 'rocks' version, however by blending all the ingredients together with ice in a blender, you will have a frozen version that is equally as delicious!
