If you've reserved a space at a park or picnic shelter for your gathering, you may want to help the attendees find their way.
Picnics are a big family outing on weekends, so chances are you won't be alone in your outdoor space. By crafting a few themed party signs, you'll help guests find where they're supposed to be more easily.
You can also use the signs to help define your area at the park.
Create a fun graphic for the signs that represents your party theme. Our watermelon invitation from Pear Tree Greetings inspired a trail of watermelon signs leading to the family picnic area.
Supplies
posterboard in black and white
12 X 12 cardstock paper in white and lime green
12 X 12 patterned cardstock in red
scissors
adhesive
permanent black marker
3 graduated sizes of circular plates
Directions
Step 1: Using the graduated sizes of plates, trace around the largest one on the green cardstock, the middle-sized one on the white cardstock, and the smallest on the red patterned paper.

Step 2: Place the circles together and center them. Adhere the circles together.

Step 3: Cut the circles in half.

Step 4: With a black permanent marker, draw the seeds on the watermelon.

Step 5: Use a scallop-shaped punch to "take a bite" out of the melon.

Step 6: Adhere the white and black posterboard together, and then use adhesive to apply the watermelon figure to your sign.
Step 7: Add an arrow or other information if you need to. Signs can be attached to a wooden stake, or hung from trees or posts.
