Howdy, Y’all! These chalkboard horse mason jars are the perfect detail for a shabby chic cowgirl shindig. The horses are cut out of chalkboard adhesive vinyl, so you can easily write guests names on them. You can use regular chalk, but I recommend using chalk markers for a cleaner and more vibrant look. The adhesive vinyl also easily peels off, so you can reuse the mason jars for your next party. The crocheted lace and burlap details add just the right amount of shabby chic, don't ya think?

Not planning a cowgirl party? You can adapt this tutorial to fit just about any party. Try different shapes and colors that will match your party. For my son’s dinosaur party, I plan on using dinosaur shaped chalkboard vinyl and ribbon to match the color scheme, in place of lace and burlap. Mason jars are a cheap and fun detail to add to any party!

Striped Paper Straws
Directions:
Step 1: Use a cutting machine or scissors to cut the chalkboard adhesive vinyl into horse shapes. When finished, just adhere to your mason jars.

Step 2: Next, cut your burlap into 1- x 15-inch strips and the 7/8-inch crocheted lace ribbon into 15-inch long strips. Place lace over burlap and tie around mason jars in a knot.
Step 3: Write your party guests' names on the chalkboard horses using chalk markers. Like I mentioned above, you can use chalk, but these markers give the writing an extra crisp look for easier reading.
Step 4: Finally, just attach the cowgirl straw flags to striped paper straws and place them in the mason jars before adding a pink drink to finish off.
