When I made these cupcakes, I couldn't find any other instances of Sour Patch Kids cupcakes anywhere on the internet, which surprised me, because it's my favorite candy. A friend helped me make these, which were basic yellow cupcakes, but the icing is really what made these special. Each color of icing corresponds with the flavor of the candy, so red was cherry, orange was orange, yellow was lemon and green was lime. On top of that, I used sour flavoring to make the icing pucker your lips. They ended up being a great representation of my favorite non-baked sweet.

I am a journalist by day, baker by night. My baking is my hobby, and my friends tend to get some enjoyment out of it as well. I'm an avid Kansas Jayhawk as well.
