UX Designer and Front-End Developer

This is a full time position based in our New York City office.


We are seeking a creative, organized and skilled CSS/HTML developer to lead on site styling and user experience on This person will lead the charge of bringing fun, creativity and utility to all user experiences with our site.

The ideal candidate is comfortable in a start-up environment and is a creative problem solver who understands that design is about visual communication and language. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about clean, compelling, high quality design and wants to contribute in multiple dimensions to shape and define the Celebrations web experience. This person will work closely with teams across the brand to iteratively refine the way our users interact with our products throughout all phases of the product cycle and the strategic road-map our our product.

We're looking for a flexible, multi-tasking candidate with creative energy and a desire to build something new. The UX designer and front end developer will play a big role within our growing brand and will directly contribute to our success in a very visible way. We are very data driven, so you should be passionate about site performance and the driving metrics behind it.

  • Execute all front end changes including site updates and bug fixes
  • Collaborate with in-house design and remote (full-time) development team to spec out and build new application functionality
  • Serve as a liaison to Editorial and Design teams, assisting in wire-framing and final development of special projects and campaigns
  • Establish and maintain interactive visual design systems
  • Spearhead user interface & experience redesign projects and research UX models to improve on-site experience
  • Keep up to date on UX blogs, theories, and technologies
  • Fluency in HTML / CSS / and working knowledge of HAML / LESS
  • Must have excellent UX skills and experience, be able to create wire-frames, user flows, personas, etc. Must also be able to give direction to development team

Editorial Intern

This is a paid internship located in our New York City office.

Summary: (a 1-800-Flowers company) is looking for a talented and experienced editorial intern for a PAID (yes, paid!) internship to start as soon as possible in our Manhattan office. Our ideal candidate has an interest in party planning, crafts, DIY projects, recipes, and other related lifestyle topics. We're looking for someone who has experience writing for the web, and has a keen eye for what makes a story go viral. Major bonus points if he or she has a slight obsession with Pinterest, and is familiar with the latest trends in entertaining, food and parties.

Intern must be organized, detail-oriented and open to new ideas and projects. Since the internship is not limited to the summer, candidate must live in the New York City area and commit to 2-3 days in the office (15 hours a week). Our New York City office is located across the street from the lovely Madison Square Park in the Flatiron District... not too shabby.

Partnership Marketing, Business Development

This role requires a demonstrated record of creative problem solving, program management, analytical rigor, and flawless execution. The ideal candidate will have 4 or more years of experience in partnership marketing. In addition, the candidate must have previous experience managing and sourcing a variety of marketing partners.

Marketing Business Analyst

  • Track, report, and analyze the performance of the Celebrations Group websites, marketing and operational activities.
  • Develop insights and recommendations that will help develop effective marketing, merchandising and operational strategies.
  • Ensure that all marketing channels and promotions are tracked, identifying issues and developing options to improve conversion.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the reporting data and analytics.
  • Standardize KPI reporting and regular performance assessment using all available analytics data including conversion, spend, merchandising performance and channel performance.

Ruby Developer

We're a small team looking for a engineer with an understanding of Ruby and server side development. You’ll be core part of the team and be involved with everything from infrastructure planning to software engineering. is first and foremost a Ruby on Rails application. We use haml for writing (generating) HTML, Coffeescript/Backbone.js for Javascript. Also, some *nix devops skills are helpful since you’ll have a hand in administering everything from your local vagrant-backed app instance to production servers. Source control – we use git – should not be a foreign country to you.

We care about experience writing actual real-world applications. We like to see open source contributions, personal projects (you do have personal projects), contract work, anything that we can put our hands on. A github profile or similar would suffice, or you can send us some relevant code from projects you’ve worked on.
