GREAT n 2008!!!

A few years ago I hosted a New Year's Eve Party. Since then all of my friends and I have moved away from each other. We don't usually get together because nobody we all live to far away. This year however, we are all very close in proximity and I so badly want to have a get together with all of my friends and celebrate the New Year. We play games, eat, and are just Merry. We used to get Pizza and then everybody just brought their favorite snack. We usually had fruit and dip, nachos, lots of desserts, and several other finger foods that people could munch on throughout the evening. We'd listen to music and just have a great time in each others company. It was one time a year that we could relax and celebrate a New Year of health, friendship, joy, and happiness. I want to bring that back and make the beginning of 2008 great for all of us! I lost my job back at the beginning of October and so financially things have been rough. I am entering this contest in the hopes of winning so that my friends and I can have be able to get together and celebrate life, love, friendship, happiness, and joy. It would mean so much to all of us to be able to see one another again.

Partygoers 6-10

Invitation I always make my own. I'm very creative and love to go to the store and getting scrapbooking materials and card stock and send hand-made invites to all my friends. I think it gives it a more personal touch.

Décor We usually have a center peace for the table and most of the christmas decorations are still up.

Food We usually order a couple of pizzas and everybody brings a dish to share - cookies, nachos, bean dip, fruit and dip, etc. We like to do food that is bite size and that we can munch on throughout the evening. That way it is a more relaxed atmosphere.

Drinks We have sodas and water. We usually get some champagne (before we were of legal age we'd get sparkling grape juice)and have a glass and toast each other at midnight.

Other elements We like to have some good party music that we can totally let go to at some point and just have fun. We also like to have quiet music in the background. We like to play board games, and just chat with each other about the previous year and how we've all changed. I make New Year's cookies (a new recipe for the new year) and bake a loaf of banana bread for each of them.
