Greek New Year's Eve Traditions
In Greece, gifts are usually exchanged on New Year's Eve rather than Christmas. This means New Year's Eve in Greece often finds shopping plazas crowded with last-minute shoppers before everyone gathers in individual houses to ring in the New Year by cutting the vasilopita or new year cake. People in Greece often invite one special friend or family member whom they believe to be lucky to enter their homes first in the New Year. This is though to prevent bad omens from coming in.

Invitations
New Year's Eve is an event that calls for a bash, and you better believe this year will be a celebration served up with Champagne Wishes and Caviar Dreams. Everybody loves a bit of glamour and decadence on New Year's Eve. Rather than invite a cast of hundreds, I personally prefer having a smaller group, say about 8-15 or so of my nearest and dearest, to share this special event. It's truly an occasion that calls for the best of everything!

Champagne Wishes
Nothing says New Year's Eve like the pop of a champagne bottle.

Caviar Dreams
Now to the most important aspect of this soiree—the food! Nothing is too good for your friends, so give it all you've got for this very special evening. There are times when a formal sit-down dinner is appropriate, but my friends, this isn't one of them.

Special Party Favors
A very dear friend of mine, Mia MacFarlane, creates unique and party-ready coasters and trivets for any occasion. In addition to her own artwork and photos, you can send her a photo of your friends, family or favorite football team and she'll personalize it for your party!

Make Some Noise
Most of the world welcomes the New Year with bells, noisemakers, and people shouting "Happy New Year"! We smack lips, clank glasses, and declare resolutions. Make some noise on New Year's Eve with these lively ideas.
