Your ceremony sets the tone for your wedding celebration. When you select Julie as your officiant, you can be assured of elegance, careful attention to your wishes, and a calm presence to make your ceremony just what you want it to be.
Julie is certified as a civil wedding celebrant by Celebrant Foundation and Institute. She is licensed to perform legal weddings in New York City, New York State, and New Jersey. She also does civil union ceremonies in NJ.
Whether a wedding ceremony is formal or informal, spiritual or secular, traditional or non-traditional, Julie creates ceremonies that reflect the beliefs, traditions, and wishes of the bride and groom. She encourages couples to incorporate time-honored traditions or unique rituals in their wedding. Her warm personality and engaging spirit make the ceremony one of the more stress-free aspects of your wedding day.
Most of her couples are very clear that they want a memorable ceremony that is totally personalized and sets the tone for their once-in-a-lifetime day. Julie's goal is that the couple is able to savor this special moment between them because of her pre-wedding day preparation and communication.
Since 2005 she has conducted over 250 weddings at reception halls, restaurants, parks, museums, and private homes. She has done weddings in such beautiful venues as The Loft and Garden at Rockefeller Center, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, The Lighthouse at Chelsea Pier, Metrazur at Grand Central Terminal, Tribeca Rooftop, Manhattan Penthouse, NYC public library at 42nd St., Dwight Chapel at Yale University,and the Hilton Garden Inn on Staten Island. Several international couples have been married by Julie in Central Park weddings.
Prior to becoming a celebrant, Julie was Associate Dean of arts and sciences at Pace University in Manhattan; a curriculum manager at Bell Laboratories, AT&T and Lucent Technologies in NJ; and Associate Director of the Noble Maritime Collection, an art museum in Staten Island, NY. Her varied life experiences give her rich material to draw from when creating original ceremonies.
She has a liberal arts degree in English and art from Augsburg College, Minneapolis, MN, and a masters degree in organizational behavior from NYU's Polytechnic University, Brooklyn, NY.
Julie is the 2012 Program Committee Chr. for the 21 Century Business Woman Conference sponsored by the West Brighton Local Development Council, and she is a regular member of the Staten Island Netpreneurs, a group that of small business owners who do business on the internet.
Julie is affiliated with the Universal Brotherhood Movement, Inc., and she is their current ordaining minister for each new class of celebrants from Celebrant Foundation and Institute in Montclair, NJ. She is a recurring lecturer in Wagner College's extension certification program for wedding planners. She is a participating "Wish Granter" for the NJ/NY chapter of Wish Upon a Wedding.
