For more than a decade, Valerie Velez has been the premier stylist behind New York’s top entertainment scene. From the sets of Gossip Girl to the glamour of Access Hollywood to the buzz of New York's Fashion Week, Valerie’s clients include actors, models, media figures, news anchors and entertainment personalities. Valerie’s passion for beauty emerged early on. Her mother would often catch her experimenting with her make-up collection and her college friends deemed her as the secret weapon go-to “dorm stylist” before any date could occur. Not even Valerie’s comfortable career in advertising could keep her from enrolling in beauty school and making the leap as a professional in the beauty industry. She found her calling under the guidance of Paul Labrecque, a leading stylist and educator in New York’s elite salon. This experience helped shape her to cultivate a style where she can create unique natural looks that best suit her client’s individual lifestyle. “My favorite part of being a stylist is the moment right before my client sees my work in the mirror. It never gets old - that proud feeling where I witness the transformation and then am rewarded with a smile, a gasp and often a spontaneous hug of thanks. I love that.” She most recently worked as the head hair stylist for the WPIX-TV, Tribune Broadcasting Flagship Station in New York City.
