Amy Gerber has been my stylist and dear friend ever since I moved to New York City four years ago. When my boyfriend proposed to me and we decided to have our wedding back home in Portland, Oregon, I knew that I had to have Amy with me for my big day. I had a stylist in Oregon whom I had gone to for years prior to moving, but she was no Amy. Amy is truly a visionary and an artist in what she creates. Her passion for her craft shines through in how fabulous she makes her clients look and feel. I not only wanted Amy to do my hair and make up for the wedding, but I also asked her to do the hair of all five bridemaids and my soon to be husband.
As weddings go, they are not without there moments of stress. Amy arrived in Portland almost 8 hours late after having 2 flights cancelled and multiple delays due to the weather in New York. When Amy finally arrived, her luggage did not. As I was panicking over the fact that all of Amy's supplies were 3,000 miles away and the wedding was a day away, Amy remianed calm and focused. She called beauty supply stores and schools around the area to see where she could procure all she needed and then took a cab around a city she had never been to before. Amy's proffessionalism, coolness under pressure, and persistance saved my big day and my nerves.
Amy spent the entire day of the wedding with our bridal party in the hotel. She got all six of us ready and then met my fiance in the lobby to do his hair as well. As if all that wasn't enough, she then touched me up prior to the ceremony and throughout the reception. Everyone commented on how amazing my hair looked and how perfect it went with the style of my dress. I felt and looked amazing that day thanks to Amy.
